FAQ

What is the BSM?
BSM is a student organization at the University of North Texas. Our “home” is the Baptist Student Center, located across the street from the student union on UNT’s campus.

What does BSM do?
BSM provides opportunities for spiritual growth, making friends, leadership, and missions. We have everything from large events to small groups and one-on-one discipleship.

Do I have to be Baptist?
No way! In fact, lots of us, including members of the leadership team are not Baptist. That term indicates our heritage and who provides our financial support. So, come on by!

Are you a church?
No. We are an on-campus ministry that is supported by many area churches and the Baptist General Convention of Texas. BSM encourages our students to get involved in a local church.

How do I join/ get more involved?
Just start coming. We don’t have a membership fee. We have events and people attend. For some events, there may be a slight cost. About everything at the BSM is done by students who volunteer their time. We can always use more help!

What happens at the BSM building?
The BSM building is open Monday through Friday from 9:00-5:00, and is a great place to relax, study, and play games. There is wireless internet, a ping pong table, a foosball table, couches, chairs, a Coke machine. It is a great place to hang out and meet people! So, come by and visit!

Do you do missions?
Definitely. We do local missions throughout the metroplex. Also, we do spring break trips and summer mission trips. Finally, we also send out students around the world through our partner organization Go Now Missions.

Can I park in your lot?
You can if you buy a parking spot. We sell our parking spots at the beginning of each semester and the proceeds go toward providing a campus missionary on our staff.
