How You Can Be Involved

The BSU/BSM at the University of North Texas has a rich heritage of making an eternal difference in the lives of students.  The memories of mission trips, intramurals, noon lunches, leadership councils, Howdy Parties, music groups, summer missions, ping pong games, and the list goes on and on are a part of the fabric of God’s work to transform lives through the ministry of the BSU/BSM.  You are a part of that transformational heritage.

In January of this year, a group of interested alumni and local BSM friends met to discuss the idea of remodeling the UNT BSM building.  As that group met and talked and prayed, they came to the conclusion that a new building would be a better use of resources and energy.  Currently, plans for a new BSM building are being designed.  It is an exciting time.

The new building will be larger than the current building by about 3,000 square feet.  It will be built on the same sight as the current building which is one to the best locations of any campus ministry anywhere in Texas.  The cost of the new building is expected to be somewhere around $2 million.  This is a God-sized project.  Will you be a part of it?

Your participation is essential to the completion of this project.  This effort’s success requires:

  • Prayer. Would you please participate in this project by praying?  Pray for students at UNT and for the BSM staff who minister there.  Pray for wisdom for those making decisions for this project.  Pray for those who will give financially to make this project a reality.
  • Giving generously to this project. Would you commit to giving to this project?  You can give a one-time gift or commit to give gifts over a period of time (1 or 2 years).
  • Communicating the vision. Would you share this vision with friends and fellow alums who would be interested in participating in this effort?  You could give the UNT BSM staff the contact information of fellow alums or of people you think would be interested in being involved in a worthy effort like this or communicate directly with these friends about the project.

Most of you reading this are a part of how God has used Baptist Student Ministry to change lives. Now you can be a part of how God will use Baptist Student Ministry to transform the lives of future generations of students at UNT.  We stir the world by stirring the college campus, and we do this through missional ministries that reach students with the Good News of Jesus.
