Touching Tomorrow, Today –
The Baptist Student Ministry Building at the University of North Texas has for 50 years housed meaningful ministry and work. The facility, located in the heart of the campus, is a beacon of faith for thousands of students who walk and drive by every day. The building, built in 1960 to serve 6500 students, has served its purpose with great distinction. However, the building is old and needs extensive repair. It is now time for a new building. One that will provide opportunities of ministry for a work that is uniquely positioned on a growing campus mission field of 36,000 students, which includes the privileged opportunity to present the story of Jesus to thousands of students from around the world.
The new UNT Baptist Student Ministry Building Project will provide a great opportunity to change the world in Jesus name, but your help is needed to provide the funds to raise up this new facility. Your tax deductible gift can make all the difference in ministering to new generations of UNT students. You can Touch Tomorrow, Today.
D.L. Moody said, “Water runs downhill and the highest hills are the great cities. If we can stir them we shall stir the whole country.” Campuses, many of which attract students from around the world, are themselves global cities in microcosm, and that through them we can reach many nations of the world at once. We stir the world by stirring the campuses, and we do this through ministries that reach college campuses.
Former President of the United Nations General Assembly (and a Christian) Charles Habib Malik stated, “The university is a clear-cut fulcrum with which to move the world…More potently than by any other means, change the university and you change the world.“
For generations, Texas Baptists have been reaching out to college and university students across the state with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Baptist Student Ministry has introduced thousands of students to Christ and helped them grow as His disciples. As students come to faith in Christ they are being equipped to be workers “for the harvest.” As a result, churches and ministries in Texas, the U.S. and around the globe are strengthened by the young men and women whose lives are transformed by Christ through the ministries of Baptist Student Ministry.
the proposed floor plan for the new building
Location, location, location. This building is in the center of the busiest part of the campus, and a new building provides space for growth and better use of space for ministry.
