Stephanie Gates, Director – untbsm@gmail.com

After graduating from high school in 1999, Stephanie attended Belmont University in Nashville, TN and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in 2003.  She also attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree in 2006.  She served on staff as the Youth Intern and as the Preschool and Children’s Minister at First Baptist Church, Cleburne, TX from April 2004 through August 2006.  In August of 2006, she became the Intern at the Baptist Student Ministry at the University of North Texas.  After two years in that position, Stephanie became the Associate Director.  In July of 2009, she became the Interim Director and in February 2010, she was voted in as the Director.  Along with serving at the Baptist Student Ministry, Stephanie has served in interim youth and music positions for local churches and periodically leads worship for camps and church events.

My name is Chris Newby and I am the current Intern at the University of North Texas Baptist Student ministry.  I graduated for UNT in May of 2009 with a Bachelor degree in Developmental Family Studies. I worked along side the BSM as apart of the leadership team for a couple during my three years at UNT.  I am originally from Tyler Texas, where I graduated high school from East Texas Christian Academy.  Before I attended UNT I went to Tyler Junior College to work on my basics.  I now live in Denton with my beautiful wife Liand.  I am really excited in seeing what God is going to do with our students but also with the campus of UNT.  I look forward to the last year as the intern and am excited to see what God has in store.
