Danielle (UNT BSM Student), serving in East Asia, “This past week while hanging out with two friends I had the opportunity to share with them. After presenting the good news to them I asked them what they believed. Their response was they believed in themselves, which is often the response you get here with this culture. I then proceeded to ask them more questions. One question was what they believed happened to them when they died. Their response was that they were not too concerned with that – they said they live for today and today only.
They understood the concept of sin and believed that they were sinners but did not feel that they ever had to answer to anyone or be forgiven by anyone other than themselves or the person that they had wronged. I was really saddened and heart broken and was looking for a way to convince them that they were wrong but the Father quickly reminded me that there is nothing that I can do to save them or convince them – only He can do that – only He can save. I am simply the tool he uses for them to hear the good news.
At the end of the conversation they asked me if I was looking for a place of worship to go to on Sunday mornings, they said that although they didn’t believe what I believed, they respected it and would love to help me find one and even go with me – but only once!
Please pray that they follow through with this and that they are able to hear the good news once again. Pray that the Lord uses this in a mighty way and changes their heart. Pray that they are responsive and that a desire to know more stirs inside them.”
